Starting college can feel like a lot, but you don't have to figure it out on your own. Dallas College has a team of First-Year Experience success coaches who are dedicated to supporting first-time college students like you through your first year. They help you plan your education, fit into campus culture and grow as a student so that you know what to expect and can be confident in your next steps.

You can connect with your success coach to build a plan for your success and for help with:

Planning your classes and choosing a program of study
Registering for classes and resolving issues
Understanding how college works and where to go for help
Tracking your progress and staying on top of deadlines
Building study skills, time management and motivation
Getting involved and feeling connected on campus
Connecting to academic, financial and personal support

Make an Appointment

Schedule a virtual or in-person appointment at any point throughout the semester.

Email Your Coach

If you have a quick question or need to follow up, email the First-Year Experience success coaches. Someone will typically respond within 1-2 business days.

Drop-In Help (In-Person or Virtual)

If you are on campus and need to drop in for quick support, visit the First-Year Experience Success Coaching Hub or a Success Coaching Center.

Need help outside of business hours? Ellie, our AI-texting virtual assistant, is available 24/7 to support you. Throughout the semester, you will receive text messages from Ellie to check in with you.

Ellie can help you find answers to questions about classes, deadlines, college resources and more. You will also receive important reminders that will help you stay on track, or you will get connected to your First-Year Experience success coach when needed.

Ellie works alongside your success coach, not instead of them, so that you’re always supported.
