About Graduation Ceremony

An RSVP is required to participate and be guaranteed guest tickets.

Ceremony Basics

  • Dallas College holds an annual graduation ceremony at the end of the spring semester to honor the previous fall’s graduates and spring and summer potential graduates.
  • Students are eligible to participate in the ceremony if no more than (2) courses are remaining at the end of the spring semester.
  • Graduation is ceremonial only and does not confer the right of a degree upon a student.
  • Participation in graduation is optional.

Attending the Ceremony

  • Eligible students who have submitted a “Graduation Application” will receive an invitation to participate in graduation and will need to indicate whether or not they plan to attend.
  • An RSVP is required by the deadline so that graduates will be able to receive their allotted number of guest tickets for the ceremony.
  • Diplomas/certificates are not handed out at the ceremony. They will be mailed to the student’s address provided on the graduation application within (5) five to (7) seven weeks after the end of the semester as long as all requirements have been met.

About the Facility

  • Do not bring personal items (purses, cosmetic bags, cell phones, etc.) with you to the graduation ceremony that cannot fit in a single pocket underneath the gown. There is no place in the facility to secure your belongings.
  • Students should arrive on time to line up and prepare for the procession.
  • Tickets are required for all guests.
  • A professional photographer will take individual photos of each graduate crossing the stage and packages will be available for purchase.
