New Employee 90-Day ​Experience

At Dallas College, all new hires participate in the New Employee Welcome, and full-time employees additionally attend a Benefits Orientation. These trainings encompass an overview of our history, mission, and culture, along with a focus on compliance requirements and a comprehensive review of the outstanding benefits offered by Dallas College.


Your first day is all about you. You'll begin building relationships, learning about Dallas College, and exploring how your talents and expertise contribute to our mission.

What to Expect

  • Understand the Dallas College Student Journey
  • Learn about Dallas College values and culture
  • Receive your ID badge and provide required documentation
  • Review employee benefits
  • Receive laptop (if applicable)

Employee Focus

  • Verify system and technology access
  • Set initial development goals
  • Review required compliance training
  • Complete the new hire learning playlist
  • Submit your New Employee Spotlight interview

Supervisor Support

  • Assign a workplace buddy
  • Review departmental procedures and expectations
  • Introduce team members and key stakeholders
  • Discuss FlexWork options and expectations
  • Review key priorities and the 30/60/90-day plan
  • Schedule recurring check-in meetings

As you settle into your role, you'll deepen your understanding of our culture, strengthen relationships, and begin contributing to key initiatives.

  • Conduct a 30-day check-in conversation
  • Facilitate team relationship-building opportunities

  • Align on upcoming 60-day goals

By this stage, you'll be expanding your network and exploring development opportunities that support your long-term success.

Employee Focus

  • Complete required compliance training
  • Prepare for 90-day goals and milestones
  • Explore professional development resources
  • Attend campus events
  • Medical and prescription coverage begins the first of the month after 60 days of employment, if eligible and enrolled.

Supervisor Support

  • Conduct a 60-day progress review
  • Continue regular one-on-one meetings
  • Discuss readiness for 90-day goals
  • Introduce a personalized professional development plan
