Faculty Market Disparity Stipend for Full-time Faculty

Dallas College awards stipends of $15,000 $8,000 or $5,000 to attract and retain qualified full-time faculty teaching in disciplines where there is a demonstrated market disparity. Current approved stipends are as follows:

What are the criteria for teaching at Dallas College?

Dallas College’s criteria, in accordance wi​th Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges guidelines, are as follows.

For credit courses designed to transfer to a baccalaureate degree:

  • A master’s degree in the teaching discipline.
  • (A minimum of 18 graduate semester hours in the subject to be taught.)

Each Dallas College campus hires continuing education instructors independently and has a slightly different process for doing so.

Please contact the Continuing Education Office at each location for more information.

For workforce education courses not designed for transfer:

  • A combination of academic preparation and work experience.
  • (Including three years of direct or related work experience other than teaching.)

For developmental courses:

  • A bachelor’s degree in the specific teaching discipline and demonstrated competency.
  • (E.g., teaching experience, honors, graduate course work or other related accomplishments.)
