Dallas College Online Counseling for Students Video Tutorial

Before your first virtual online counseling session begins, please make sure to watch the following tutorial video on how to use WebEx. This software is what you will use to engage with one of Dallas College's professional counselors.

Hey, let me show you how to join a Cisco WebEx meeting. 

When it's time to join your WebEx meeting just click the join WebEx meeting link in the meeting invitation. 

When the join page opens, enter your name and email address and then click the join meeting button. 

Optionally, on Windows and Mac, you can choose to join using the Webex desktop app or the web app. If you're not sure, simply click join meeting.

If this is your first time joining a WebEx meeting, you may be prompted for a one-time install of the WebEx desktop app or web add-on before you join. 

Follow the instructions on the screen to install it. 

Next, you need to make sure everyone else in the meeting can see and hear you. 

Depending on your meeting type, you can choose different ways to connect to audio and video. 

The easiest way is to select a call using computer check your appearance in the preview before you start your video. 

Don't worry, no one in the meeting can see you until you click the green button. 

If you want to change your camera or join without video you can do so from the select video connection menu. 

Now, just click the green button to connect.

You're meeting controls display along the bottom and auto-hide when not in use. 

Here you can mute your audio start or stop your video and share your screen or other contents.

Open the participants panel to see a list of all the people in the meeting and open the chat panel to send messages to other meeting participants. 

More meeting controls are under more options including changing your audio connection if needed. 

When it's time to leave just click the red X.
