- Private Education Loans — Dallas College does not have any preferred lender relationships. No lender may be authorized to use the name, emblem, mascot, logo or other institutional identifier of Dallas College for any marketing of private education loans.
- Private Education Loan Disclosures (Including Self-Certification Form) — Private education loans are nonfederal loans offered by private lenders. Before applying for a private education loan, students are encouraged to review federal, state, and institutional financial aid options. Federal student loans may offer more favorable terms and repayment options than private education loans. When Dallas College provides information about a private education loan to a prospective borrower, it will provide the applicable required disclosures and information about other student aid options.
A student or parent applying for a private education loan may request a Private Education Loan Applicant Self-Certification Form from Dallas College Financial Aid. Dallas College will provide the form upon request, even if the applicant has not received loan approval from a private lender. For an admitted or enrolled student, Dallas College will complete Section 2 of the form upon request, to the extent the required information is available. This section includes the student’s cost of attendance, other financial assistance, and the difference between those amounts. Applicants may also obtain the form from their private education lender. For assistance, contact Contact Financial Aid. - Code of Conduct for Education Loans
- Preferred Lender Arrangements/Preferred Lender Lists — Dallas College does not retain a preferred lender list for private student loans, nor does it keep any other lists of lenders. We encourage students to pursue federal and state financial aid as their primary source of funding before seeking out private student loans.
