Active Minds' Send Silence Packing® is a powerful traveling exhibit designed to raise awareness about mental health and suicide prevention. The event features backpacks arranged in public spaces, each representing a life lost to suicide, often accompanied by personal stories from loved ones.
The goal is to "send silence packing" by sparking conversation, reducing stigma around mental health struggles, and encouraging people to seek help. The visual impact and shared stories create a compelling call to action for mental wellness, support, and connection.
Location: Brookhaven Campus - Courtyard
This event is hosted by Dallas College Counseling and Psychological Services (CAPS). CAPS provides free mental health counseling services to Dallas College students. Get Your Steps In : Thursday, July 16 - 5 p.m. - 6 p.m.
Attendees will walk the track on campus and identify the benefits of walking each day. The track takes about a half hour to complete.
