First-Gen and Forward is a student success and wellness series that supports first-generation students as they navigate college, family expectations, stress, belonging, and academic responsibilities. Learn practical tools for managing wellness, using campus resources, building support and staying connected to your goals.
Locations: Richland Campus, Learning Commons Conference Room, and Online
This event is hosted by Dallas College Counseling and Psychological Services (CAPS). CAPS provides free mental health counseling services to Dallas College students. Participants will gain insight into the risk factors associated with suicide, recognize common warning signs, and learn practical ways to support someone who may be struggling. The presentation will also address the importance of reducing stigma around mental health, encouraging help-seeking behaviors, and connecting individuals with available resources and support services.
