Dallas College was selected by the Association of Community College Trustees (ACCT) to participate in the US-UK Community College and Technical Education Exchange project. The selection was officially announced at ACCT’s Leadership Congress, held in New Orleans, Oct. 22-25.

Dallas College has been named a national leader in student success innovation, earning EAB’s Technology Pioneer Award at the company’s Connected25 conference in Orlando, Florida. This recognition highlights Dallas College’s bold use of technology and data to remove barriers, support students and drive record success.

Dallas College announced today that its School of Health Sciences has been awarded more than $2.5 million from the U.S. Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA) to support nursing students and strengthen the local health care workforce. Funding will expand scholarships, resources and support for nursing workforce development.

Leaders from around the world are coming to Dallas to explore how global impact and purpose drives positive change. Dallas College Chancellor Justin Lonon will deliver the keynote.

This year, the Dallas College Foundation announced four new ETK Foundation Scholars: Paige Davis, Emmanuella Iwuji, Eboni Johnson and Beverly Veloz. Their stories of courage and overcoming adversity are detailed here. They join continuing Dallas College students Beniela Djereke, Cichez Dounley, Amanda Moore and Justina Ojiemudia who were previously selected to receive Erin Tierney Kramp scholarships.

Dallas College is proud to announce that three of its leaders have been selected for the seventh cohort of the Hispanic Association of College and Universities (HACU) Leadership Academy. Dr. Maria Boccalandro, Dr. Susana Pérez and Gabriella Zúñiga-Jairala will participate in the fellowship that strives to advance the careers of leaders in a wide range of higher education institutions.

Dallas College welcomes Cristina Kahlo — acclaimed photographer, curator and grandniece of legendary Mexican artist Frida Kahlo — for a series of cultural and artistic events at its Mountain View Campus in celebration of Hispanic Heritage Month.

Dallas College, in partnership with the North Texas Food Bank, is continuing its commitment to fighting food insecurity by offering Drive-Thru Pantries and Community Pantry Days throughout the year. These events are open to both students and the general public.

CREW at Dallas College to Support Regional Hubs in Expanding Teacher Apprenticeships

Dallas College continues to lead the way in workforce education by expanding its partnership with American College of Education (ACE) to offer an accelerated, affordable pathway for nursing students pursuing advanced degrees. This new agreement allows students currently enrolled in Dallas College’s Bachelor of Science in Nursing program to fast-track their journey toward earning a Master of Science in Nursing through concurrent enrollment at ACE.

The four-year grant will deliver targeted training, build innovative career pathways and directly support students through more than $1.3 million in tuition assistance.

The 46 Dallas College students who participated earned a total of 18 medals.
