Student Experience: Michelle Reyes

"I attended Dallas College straight out of high school, where I developed my passion for fine art. At first, location and affordability drew me to the Mountain View campus. As time passed, I grew not only as an artist, but also professionally and academically. My education gave me the foundation I needed to transfer to Texas A&M Commerce, where I received my bachelor's degree in communication. Grades and credits were important to transfer, but I also learned skills that are vital for today's workforce like collaboration, public speaking and time management.

"The most important thing I learned at Dallas College is you may not always get what you wish for, but you always get what you work hard for. No matter where you're from, you are capable of success, which can mean something different for everyone. I definitely recommend Dallas College programs to other students for its affordability, quality of education and variety of classes."

Michelle works in community relations at Dallas ISD. She hopes to pursue a master's degree at the University of Dallas.
